My Skin Care Journey...

Anyone who has been following my blog, knows how I feel about food and nutrition for healing a body!  Food is the best medicine and the wrong food can cause a lot of diseases, and discomfort.  This being said, I use all products that are natural, and as chemical free as possible.  I have been for years.  I even make my own house cleaning supplies.  But there was this one product that appeared to be natural, and because it was working so well, I kept using it. Well as we all know, just because something is natural, doesn't mean it's good for you.
So there it is... the product from hell.  If you search the internet you will see testimonials all over the place how this was everyone's miracle cream... including mine.  I began using this cream in 2000.  It replaced having to use cortisone cream on my eczema spots and I was thrilled.  With this cream, my complexion was stunning.  I did notice on several occasions during those years, that if I ran out, or forgot to use it I would get some dryness and some reaction for not using it.  I just blamed it on my eczema.  However, in April of last year, 2013, I purchased a new bottle, just as I always do and lathered it on my face twice a day.  Within about 3 days, I noticed some itchiness, burning and the usual things that happen when I don't have my Mario.  My daughter had been using it as well, which makes me feel like a crappy mother for ever giving it to her to try.  Anyway... she too was having the same symptoms.  By the end of the week, we were on fire.  Oozing blisters, dry cracked skin, we were so confused.   My husband actually said... "Maybe it's the Mario"!  What?  Bite your tongue dude!  I called my mom to see if she had any of the old formula on hand, which she happened to have.  I couldn't slather that stuff on fast enough, and wouldn't you know it... it cleared it all up like magic within a few days.  At that point, I compared the old formula to the new formula and what do you know... they were different.  The texture, the smell... all didn't match.  The hubs was right... I hate it when that happens!  I called the company, and a manager of some sort called me back.  Apparently they had had a supplier quit supplying them with one of the ingredients, and they got it somewhere else.  They did not tell me which item it was.  They insisted on refunding my money, which they did... they sent me a check, and they also sent me a whole bunch of products to try to help with my condition.  My condition?  You mean my condition caused by your magic crack like cream?  They also sent me some samples of a new formula that they had been working on.  I told them I would be happy to be a test subject to get this cream back to good.  Well, the next time I called in, my calls were ignored, emails... ignored, and it seems they pulled the control cream from their website and everywhere else that sells it.  Fishy, don't you think?  Now... there are lots of people out in this world going through withdrawals and suffering from Red Skin Syndrome.  If you look up Red Skin Syndrome on the internet... it is usually caused by steroidal withdrawal.  I am convinced that something in that product had a steroidal effect and that is what's causing all the misery!

This is my face and neck a on day 19 without "The Sauce"

It stayed like this for about 6 months!  I am still struggling with symptoms here and there.  I have to be very cautious of products I put on my skin.  It was a horrible experience.
